Delhi - NCR

TRBC was commissioned by the Center for Civil Society, a prestigious Indian think tank to design a world-class education institute in Qutub Institutional Area in New Delhi, which endeavours to cultivate future leaders for the country by offering post graduate programs in public policy. The site was a two-floor interior space split between administration and curricular activity.
A decidedly Indian palette drawing upon associative memory of institutional spaces was used, with extensive use of red brick and yellow Jaisalmer stone, balanced with a soothing tactile white texture. Grey, straight lines fuse the traditional with the contemporary and are enhanced by the use of Nagpur Teak in furniture.
The space flows out of the Reception area and into the students&#8217; library, which is a central accessible receptacle volume fed by the students&#8217; lounge, classroom and a passage leading to the cafe outdoors.

The challenge for this bathroom was actually its size (all of 35 sqft). The age of the house (70 odd years) was also a serious consideration, which posed a challenge at almost every stage of construction.
A heavily textured, monochrome, intelligently designed, compact and functional space covering all aspects of hygiene, and basic bathroom storage. This was the Studio&#8217;s very first project.

Bathroom A

TRBC was approached to design a contemporary IVF center in Delhi, replete with sterile laboratories and a state of the art Operation Theater. Operating within stringent ICMR guidelines and a constricted bus-like floor plan, the aim was to create a sense of flow by expressing the feminine energy and exploring the belly-like qualities of catchment spaces. A light, airy and neutral palette, with a dash of orangey hope (with graphic design resonance) serves to brighten the space, by acknowledging the desperate hunt for solutions, with which a couple makes its way to such a facility.

Miraculum IVF

A young couple and their son were looking to immediately move into a bare-to-the-bones 15th Floor 3BHK they had just gotten possession of.
On the list: flooring, wall treatments, complete carpentry (storage, beds, tables et al), furniture (sofas, couches, shelving), glasswork, lighting, soft fabric work and finishing elements.
A seemingly impossible task, the members of TRBC operated on site for the duration of the project and exited only after the last curtain was installed.
