Artsy

One of our most interesting and challenging briefs till date, the idea was to capture the essence of the developing art scene in the vibrant and chaotic city of Kolkata, and translate it into a coffee experience beyond excellence. Apart from the creation of a space to display artwork, the venue needed to be able to host a bevy of events, from book launches to stand-up comedy acts.

The finesse-worthy artwork was relegated to teal niches and hung in tension (on suspension systems) to create dramatic shadows. The space was also segregated to a reading area with bookshelf-partitions and a general cafe area replete with laptop stations and coffee tables.

Concrete elements found their way into the pop-themed colour scheme, as did elements of nature, to create a breath of fresh Artsy air in the City of Joy- a first in the region.
